Big news to start the week! More than 2,300 organizations joined ASAE’s community sign-on letter that implores Congress to pass COVID relief and include 501(c)(6) organizations in the PPP. Review the letter.

Thank you to all who added their organizations to the letter. We can’t express enough how grateful we are for your time, energy, support and patience – particularly as we bombard you with communications.

New Hope for a COVID Relief Deal?

It’s a good thing we waited to send the letter to Congress. Over the last several days, prospects for a COVID relief package have improved. A bipartisan agreement remains uncertain, maybe unlikely, but Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) recently directed members of her caucus to come up with a new plan.

The plan will likely need to change for Republican support, but it could get a vote on the House floor this week.

Let’s Keep Up the Pressure

This development makes timing for our letter ideal. To maximize the opportunity, we encourage you to Tweet your legislators this week before they go home.

With the list of Congressional social media accounts, use the sample Tweet below to write your members of Congress and remind them how badly our community needs help:

<@your legislator> Pass COVID relief and include 501c6s in the PPP! <Your organization name> joined 2,300 orgs on a letter that implores Congress to act now and expand the PPP to our community. bit.ly/3icplD5 #powerofa @power_of_a
