Media advocacy is the ongoing process of leveraging the power and reach of the media to disseminate and rebut policy-related information and to influence public, special target groups and ultimately policymaker’s view on an issue. However, despite its efficacy, local media advocacy continues to go underutilized by many corporations and associations as part of their lobbying strategy. Join ASAE’s Government Relations & Advocacy Professionals Advisory Council (GRAPAC) for a discussion with leading experts on the who, what, where, when, why and how of media advocacy and get their insights on the importance and the how-to effectively incorporate local media engagement into your association’s overall lobbying strategy.

The program will take place on June 23 at 12:00pm ET. Speakers include Dan Meyers, Senior Director and Head of Advocacy, North America, APCO Worldwide; Sue Ramsett, Vice President and General Manager, KWQC TV-6, Davenport, Iowa; Karen Bailey-Chapman, Senior Vice President for External Affairs, American Beverage Association; and Hannah Y Kim, Principal of Butterfly Strategies. The program will be moderated by David Morgan, Principal at D. Morgan and Partners and President of the Multicultural Media & Correspondents Association.
