National Association of State Chief Information Officers – NASCIO-Deloitte Cybersecurity Study

NASCIO estimates that less than two percent of state information technology funds go to cybersecurity, and a state’s IT budget it less than two percent of the state’s total budget. NASCIO found a way to help its members and measure where states have been, where they are and where they should go in cybersecurity. NASCIO partnered with Deloitte to conduct biennial surveys of Chief Information Security Officers who report to state Chief Information Officers and state officials to explore how states are managing cyber risk. The survey produces a widely circulated report, and state CISOs also receive benchmark reports of their cybersecurity posture compared to other states.

Military Officers Association of America – Military Spouse Symposia Series

“Keeping a Career on the Move®” is a personal and professional development conference for military spouses representing all ranks and services planning to enter or re-enter the workforce or taking the next step in their professional careers. The program has been presented by the Military Officers Association of America 28 times and hosted in multiple locations across the country and overseas. In 2017, MOAA and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s Hiring our Heroes program joined forces to provide these symposia during Transition Summits hosted at military installations throughout the country. This all-day conference helps spouses identify and articulate personal goals, build a bridge to local and federal resources, connect spouses directly with the local workforce by providing opportunities to engage with installation, community, state, and federal representatives, local and national employers, and other military spouses who have successfully kept and grown their careers on the move, and to offer advice, assistance, and expertise on leveraging personal experiences to obtain employment.

A complete listing of Summit, Gold and Silver winners can be found here. Thank you to all who entered, and congratulations to all the winners.  Nominations will open in January for 2019 recognition.
