Attendees of ASAE’s Annual Meeting this month in Chicago will have a chance to give back to the host city by donating food to the Greater Chicago Food Depository (GCFD). The Greater Chicago Food Depository is Chicago’s food bank, collecting and distributing food where it’s most needed throughout the Chicagoland area. Last year alone, the Food Depository distributed nearly 72 million pounds of food. Every day, the network distributes the equivalent of 164,000 meals. Canned goods will be collected during ASAE’s Annual Meeting to benefit the GCFD.
The Food Depository has numerous corporate partners, including SmithBucklin, a Chicago-based association management company that will be assisting with the food donations during ASAE Annual Aug. 19-21.
In addition to the food donations, On Tuesday, Aug. 21, ASAE attendees can volunteer at Little Brothers-Friends of the Elderly. Participants will decorate bags for birthday deliveries, make candy favors, and pack toiletry kits for homebound elders.
