On October 4th, more than 1,000 association industry professionals and partners will gather to recognize ASAE’s 2017 Power of A Summit Award winners at the 18th Annual Summit Awards Dinner in Washington, DC. Collectively, we will honor the award-winning associations that have made exemplary commitments to creating a stronger America and world and are positive influences in the daily lives of society at large.
This year, 56 gold and silver honors were bestowed. From among the gold winners, six elite Summit Award winners were chosen, including:
Association of Equipment Management Professionals
Program: Advancing a Profession Through Technology
The College of American Pathologists Foundation
Program: See, Test & Treat®
National Auto Body Council Program: Recycled Rides
National Council for Behavioral Health
Program: Be 1 in a Million
Soroptimist International of the Americas
Program: Dream It, Be It: Career Support for Girls
National Volunteer Fire Council
Program: Make Me a Firefighter
This event is an annual sell-out, and there are still a few tables and sponsorship opportunities available. Without the support from this dinner, the Power of A Fund would not be able to educate and engage lawmakers and the administration on a wide range of legislative and regulatory issues – everything from tax reform and changes to overtime eligibility to travel policies that affect association meetings. The Power of A Fund is solely supported by industry professionals who acknowledge the importance of having our voice heard on issues that impact the association community.
In addition, the Power of A Fund specifically supports national and grassroots advocacy, research on the value and scope of associations, American Associations Day (ASAE’s Legislative Fly-In), and legal actions on issues impacting associations.
ASAE’s annual Power of A Awards highlight the association community’s valuable contributions to society on the local, national and global level. Silver, gold and Summit Award winners highlight the outstanding accomplishments of associations and industry professionals in the areas of strengthening lives, forging a more trained and highly competitive workforce, enhancing the economy, driving innovation and making a better world.
