ASAE is among the many organizations that are donating funds to the American Red Cross to assist with relief efforts in Houston and other parts of Texas and the nation affected by Hurricane Harvey. Associations often come to the aid of communities in need, and this is no different.

Here are ways in which you can help:

The Red Cross is asking people to donate money on its website or to text 90999 to donate $10. The group is also asking for volunteers.

Other organizations that are engaged in relief efforts include the Salvation ArmySamaritan’s Purse, and Heart to Heart International.

The crowdfunding site GlobalGiving is also working to raise $2 million to provide emergency supplies such as food, water and medicine to survivors of the storm in addition to longer-term recovery efforts. By Aug. 29, they had raised nearly $1.3 million.

Individuals and corporations can also donate to relief efforts through National Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster, an association of organizations that seek to mitigate and alleviate the impact of disasters.

America is stronger by association.
