About the ARVO Annual Meeting
The ARVO Annual Meeting is the largest gathering of vision researchers and clinician-scientists in the world. It is attended by approximately 12,000 eye and vision researchers. About 45% of our attendees come from outside the U.S. Over 3,000 attendees are students/trainees. We are also proud that some 250 attendees from government agencies and departments attend our meeting, including employees of the National Institutes of Health, the National Eye Institute, the Food & Drug Administration and the Department of Defense.
The Meeting provides the eye research community’s most comprehensive networking, knowledge-sharing and collaborative environment. It gives an invaluable learning experience for students; an opportunity for investigators to benchmark their work; access to cutting-edge science and potential collaborators for commercial organizations; and a glimpse of upcoming treatments, diagnostic tools, surgical techniques and more for clinicians — years ahead of what they find at other meetings.
